Polar-ICE Data Stories: Putting Real Data from Polar Regions into the Hands of Students
Abstract
The National Science Foundation funded Polar-ICE project created a series of Data Stories to share from the Arctic and Antarctic. In short, the Data Stories are easy-to-use, inter-active, online stories focused on engaging students with real-world data. The emphasis is on students driving their learning through data interpretation. The activities discussed here are applicable to a variety of learning environments, opening the opportunity to engage students with real-world data and reinforce the Polar Literacy Principles (
